[Developer’s Note] Updates on Hack and Macro Countermeasures

In July, with the introduction of the Credit Level System, we saw a sharp decrease in exploits users, but we have also identified a renewed increase in macro activity. While hacks manipulate game data to create results that are impossible through normal play, macros automate repetitive actions to gain rewards with ease. Because macros do not exploit system vulnerabilities directly, distinguishing them from legitimate players is considerably more challenging than detecting hacks.

To address this, we have been focusing on minimizing detection errors. Our approach involves accumulating long-term behavioral data, analyzing repetitive patterns, and identifying anomalies across various logs. This includes not only gameplay records, but also data related to currency acquisition and consumption, as well as access environments. We continue to refine these detection standards to strengthen accuracy and fairness.

On August 21 and 25, we carried out two rounds of additional enforcement against macro users. Through these efforts, we sanctioned approximately 20,000 abnormal accounts. Following these actions, macro usage has shown a clear and steady decline. With the Credit Level System raising the severity of penalties, it has become increasingly difficult for macro users and farming operations to return in the same way. Going forward, new detection and enforcement tools will place even greater barriers in front of these behaviors.

We are also preparing further measures, including the deployment of high-intensity lie-detection systems, additional Patrols, and new verification procedures to defend against proxy authentication attempts.

Both hacks and macros will continue to evolve alongside technological progress and new content releases. In response, we remain committed to:

  • Responding swiftly to new attack methods

  • Advancing and upgrading detection and enforcement systems

  • Reducing the effectiveness of abnormal activity

  • Preserving a safe and enjoyable play environment for legitimate players

The fight against hacks and macros is not a short-term task. It is a long-term challenge that requires persistence and ongoing improvement. We will continue to dedicate our efforts to protecting your valuable gameplay experience, and we look forward to your continued interest and feedback. Thank you.
