1. Overview of 5th Job Skills

After completing the 5th Job Advancement, you will unlock the V Matrix system.

The V Matrix is a growth system that allows you to equip and enhance powerful new skills by slotting in Nodes.

You can acquire new Nodes by using Nodestones.

Duplicate Nodes aren’t wasted, as they can be used as materials to enhance your existing Nodes and increase their levels.

Enhancing Nodes boosts their effects, allowing you to customize and strengthen your character to fit your playstyle.

Term
Description

V Matrix

A deck-style system for managing your 5th Job skills. It provides slots where Nodes can be equipped to unlock new abilities or enhance existing ones.

Node

Skill items that can be equipped into V Matrix slots. Nodes are categorized into Skill Nodes, Boost Nodes, and Special Nodes.

Nodestone

A resource item used to acquire new Nodes. It can be obtained from field drops in specific areas, boss reward layers, and events.

Node Enhancement

A system for strengthening your Nodes by using duplicates as enhancement material.

2. What Is the V Matrix?

2-1. How to Equip and Unequip Nodes

You can find all your acquired Nodes at the bottom of the V Matrix UI.

To equip a Node, simply drag and drop it into an empty slot or double-click it.

To unequip a Node, double-click it in an equipped slot.

New skills unlocked via Nodes will appear in your 5th Job Skill window.

Note: You cannot equip multiple identical Nodes at the same time.

2-2. Slot Expansion

You start with 5 slots upon completing your 5th Job Advancement. After that, a new slot unlocks every 5 levels.

You can also spend NESO to unlock up to 2 additional slots early.

Note: Slots unlocked early with NESO do not grant extra slots or refunds when you reach the corresponding level. The NESO cost for early unlocking varies by character level.

3. Obtaining Nodes

The primary way to acquire Nodes is by using Nodestones, which can be found through:

  • Drops from monsters in specific areas

  • Reward layers from certain bosses

  • Event rewards

  • Trading on the Marketplace

When you use a Nodestone, you will receive one random Node suitable for your character's class.

The Node will be one of three types: Skill, Boost, or Special.

Type
Description

Skill Node

Skill Nodes grant direct access to 5th Job skills. They are categorized as:

  • Shared Skills: Usable by all jobs.

  • Class Skills: Shared among Warrior, Mage, Bowman, Thief, or Pirate classes.

  • Job Skills: Exclusive to a specific job.

Upon the 5th Job Advancement, characters automatically receive 3 Skill Nodes (1 Shared, 1 Class, and 1 Job).

Boost Node

Boost Nodes strengthen your 1st-4th Job skills and Hyper Active Skills. Each Boost Node enhances three randomly selected skills simultaneously. When equipped, their effects are applied automatically as a passive. The enhanced values are displayed in the Skill window. You cannot equip multiple Boost Nodes with the same main skill.

Special Node

Special Nodes grant unique, temporary buffs that activate under specific conditions. All Special Nodes expire 7 days after being acquired. You can only equip one Special Node at a time.

4. Enhancing Skills

There are two ways to strengthen your skills in the V Matrix: Slot Enhancement and Node Enhancement.

Enhancing your setup provides powerful benefits, such as increased Final Damage, reduced Skill Cooldowns, and improved damage for 5th Job skills.

4-1. Slot Enhancement

This method improves the V Matrix slot itself, boosting the level of any Node placed within it.

  • Each slot can be enhanced up to a maximum of Level 5.

  • Slot Enhancement requires Matrix Points. Starting at Lv. 200, you will earn 1 Matrix Point per level-up (up to 50 points at Lv. 250).

  • The slot's enhancement level is displayed in its bottom-right corner.

  • You can reset your spent Matrix Points by paying a NESO fee.

4-2. Node Enhancement

This method strengthens the Node itself by using other Nodes as enhancement material.

  • Only Skill Nodes and Boost Nodes can be enhanced; Special Nodes cannot.

  • To enhance a Node, right-click it in the V Matrix UI and select "Enhance."

  • As a Node’s level increases, more material Nodes are required for the next level.

  • If you use an already-enhanced Node as material, its accumulated EXP will be fully transferred.

Type
Description

Skill Node

Can only be enhanced using identical Skill Nodes. The maximum level is 25.

Boost Node

Can only be enhanced using other Boost Nodes that share the same main skill (sub-skills do not need to match). Reaching Lv. 20 and Lv. 40 unlocks powerful bonus effects, such as increased Critical Rate or more enemies hit.

4-3. Boost Node Enhancement Tips & Notes

A single skill can be enhanced up to a maximum level of 60.

A single Node provides a maximum of 30 levels (Lv. 25 from Node Enhancement + Lv. 5 from Slot Enhancement).

Therefore, to reach the Level 60 cap for a skill, you must equip at least two different Boost Nodes that both enhance that same skill.

5. Managing V Nodes

5-1. Node Disassembly & Nodecrafting

Unused or expired Nodes can be disassembled into Node Shards. To do this, enter Disassemble Mode in the V Matrix UI or right-click a Node and select "Disassemble."

You can then use these Node Shards to craft specific Nodes you need, including Nodestones.

To prevent accidental disassembly or use as enhancement material, you can lock important Nodes.

Right-click a Node and select "Lock" to secure it.

5-3. Node Search

Use the search bar at the bottom of the V Matrix UI to find specific Nodes.

By using the Boost Node Filter, you can display only the Boost Nodes that enhance the skills you select.

  • Selecting β€œSearch Skill 1 as Main Skill” displays all Boost Nodes where Skill 1 is the main skill.

  • Selecting skills for Skill 1, 2, and 3 displays only Boost Nodes that contain all selected skills.
